    NITheP WITS node seminar: Prof Jacob Sonnenschein (Tel Aviv University)

    The National Institute for Theoretical Physics, and the Centre for Theoretical Physics, School of Physics, would like to invite to its coming talk in the theoretical physics seminar series, entitled:

    "Hologrqaphic entanglement of confining theories"

    to be presented by Prof. Jacob Sonnenschein (Tel Aviv University)

    Abstract: I will review(i) the basic notion of entanglement entropy in QFT, (ii) Ryu Takayanagi prescription of the Holographic entanglement Entropy (HEE) (iii) Wilson loops of confining backgrounds. I will then describe the generalized prescription (KKM) of computing HEE of non-conformal backgrounds. I will discuss the similarities and differences between HEE and WL. I will show that there is phase transition in HEE of confining theories and state a necessary condition for such a phase transition. Examples of the phase transition will be described. Relations between HEE and WL for systems of confinement and finite temperature will be shown. I will generalized the HEE to cases of multi-strips. I will discuss 1/N corrections and finally summarize.
