WITS Node Seminar: Prof Arnaud Ferrari (Uppsala University)

The National Institute for Theoretical Physics, and the Centre for Theoretical Physics, School of Physics, would like to invite to its coming talk in the theory seminar series, entitled:

"Search for the Higgs boson(s) at the Large Hadron Collider"

to be presented by Prof. Arnaud Ferrari (Uppsala University)

Abstract: The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN has collected proton-proton collision data for almost two years, and this has already lead to the discovery of a new Higgs-like boson, which is at the heart of the Standard Model of fundamental particles and interactions. However, several theories beyond the Standard Model predict the existence of more than one Higgs boson. In this seminar, I summarize the search for Higgs bosons in and beyond the Standard Model at the LHC, and in particular with the ATLAS experiment.

    Date: Thursday, 29th November 2012
    Venue: P222 2nd, floor, Physics
    Time: 13.20 - 14.10
