    Announcement by Prof Azwinndini Muronga (UJ)


    Dear Colleague

    We would like to invite you to take part in a school/workshop to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa from Monday 26 November until Friday 30 November 2012. The main topics of the school will be Introductory lectures on particle and high energy physics, particle and nuclear astrophysics. The main topics of the workshop will be on hydrodynamics and transport models for relativistic nuclear collisions and astrophysical processes.

    In the light of the development that South Africa will host the SKA; of the participation by South Africa at CERN and the upcoming Kruger 2012 conference (http://www.kruger2012.tlabs.ac.za/kruger2012/index.html) the school/workshop will form part of these developments including the activities around the German-South African Year of Science. Students from previously disadvantaged universities are encouraged to attend.

    The school/workshop will be held at the University of Johannesburg, Auckland Park Kingsway Campus, Auckland Park, Johannesburg. Details will be updated on the following website: http://physics.uj.ac.za/conferences/2012/HDM2012/

    Note that the school/workshop will be a satelite meeting for the Kruger 2012 Conference that will follow immediately the week after the school/workshop.
