WITS Node Seminar: Dr Ilies Messamah

The National Institute for Theoretical Physics, and the Centre for Theoretical Physics, School of Physics, would like to invite to its coming talk in the theory seminar series, entitled:

    "Black Holes and Fuzzballs"

to be presented by Dr. Ilies Messamah (NITheP/University of the Witwatersrand)

Abstract: In this talk I will present an idea that, if correct, has the potential to solve the black hole paradoxes.
It goes under the name ``the fuzzball proposal'' and was initiated by Mathur. First, I will start by reviewing the black hole puzzles. Then, I will discuss some key concepts in the fuzzball proposal. After that, I will review an application of these concepts to the case of the so called LLM geometries. Finally, I will present some preliminary results about checking the aforementioned application.

    Date: Tuesday, 28th February 2012
Venue: Frank Nabarro Lecture Theatre P216
