    NITheP will sponsor the following for participants of the STUDENT GRANT category:

    Conference fee (Lunch, dinner, tea and snacks on conference days only)

    (2) For GENERAL category participants:

    (a) Sharing accommodation option:

    R8,000.00 fee includes:
    Registration fees
    Accommodation IN 18 Jan 2012 OUT 28 Jan 2012 (Sharing accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis).

    Braai on the evening of the 18th of January 2012

    Student Grant Category:


    NITheP has 20 fully supported (i.e. conference fee, accommodation and travel) grants available to local students (i.e. students currently in South Africa).

    Accommodation for STUDENT GRANT category participants will be IN 18 Jan 2012 OUT 28 Jan 2012.

    Students from other countries in Africa will also be considered for NITheP supported grants PROVIDING that those students are in SA at the time of the Summer School. Due to Budget restraints, travel can only be paid from within South Africa.

    PLEASE NOTE: To apply, students must submit a complete study record and a letter of support from the Supervisor or HOD.

    Those wishing to be considered for Student Grants must:

    (1) Complete and submit the online registration form by 1 November 2011.
    (2) Obtain a letter from your HOD or Supervisor and upload it along with your complete study record by using our online registration form (on this page).


    PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING REGARDING STUDENT GRANTS: Students supported by NITheP are expected to attend all lectures, tutorials, to complete homework assignments and possible evaluations. These Grants will be made available on the basis of academic merit.

    Full amount of R8,000 for sharing, or R9,460 for single accommodation payment should be paid directly to the Salt Rock Hotel.

    Speakers/Student Grant Category Participants:
    Transport between King Shaka International Airport and the School venue will be organised for all lecturers at the beginning and end of the School.

    General Category Participants:
    A Shuttle transport service between King Shaka International airport and the School will be available for participants at the beginning and end of the School. Please provide us with your travel choice when requested to do so when registering online.

    Participants who would like to make use of this transport are expected to arrive in Durban on 18th of January 2012 and depart on the 28th of January 2011. Please e-mail Ms Nelisiwe Mncube with your flight number and arrival time.
